Those Cruciferous Veggies

This family of vegetables – the Brassicaceae – are detoxification powerhouses. They contain sulforophanes, which support your body’s natural detox pathways. Sulforophanes also quench free radicals, which means they help protect your cells.

Cruciferous vegetables also are a great source of di-indolylmethane, DIM for short. DIM is especially good at helping your body rid itself of excess estrogen and reducing the associated effects.

We know everything is connected in the body! Supporting your detox and hormone pathways can support other aspects of health, including energy and mood.

The best food sources for sulforophanes and DIM include broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage, kale, Brussels sprouts, mustard greens, etc.

Reminder to always check with your own doctor/provider before making changes to your habits, including with food.

Happy munching!
