A Sprinkling of Spices

Three of my favorites:

Garlic

  • Anti-inflammatory and anti-microbial, garlic is versatile and distinctive. I add it liberally to lots of veggie dishes. (My favorite is freshly roasted whole cloves.)

Ginger

  • Supportive for digestion, it’s also a great anti-inflammatory. I like to add fresh ginger with lemon to warm water and sip – it’s a stimulating way for your body to wake up too.

Turmeric

  • Another anti-inflammatory superstar, turmeric is used in many southern and eastern Asian cuisines. It has a savory flavor, and please know that it’s not spicy itself. It’s also delicious as a tea.
