Simmer pots are an easy, less toxic way to enjoy your favorite holiday aromas

Why:
- Much less toxic than candles, air fresheners, plug-in’s, etc.
- Better air quality, especially during cold/flu season
- Simple
- Inexpensive
- Can even be cleansing for your air
How:
- In a medium-large pot, add orange slices, a few small fresh pine branches, fresh thyme, sprinkle of cloves and a few cinnamon sticks.
- Fill with water to cover the above, but not to top (half or two-thirds full).
- Bring to a boil then reduce heat to simmer (low or medium-low).
- Leave uncovered to enjoy the aroma, and don’t leave it unattended.
Keep in mind:
If the aroma is very strong, it may be too strong for pets so move them to another part of your home. Pine and fresh herbs can sometimes give off a strong aroma – start with less and add more if needed.
Get creative with this. Add any fruits, veggies and herbs you like. Try different types of citrus, fresh herbs, apple slices, cardamom, and so on.
